Our Services

Restoration and Conservation

Our number one goal at Staves’s Stonemasonry is the dedication to the restoration and conservation of UK heritage sites. We believe that these sites are an important part of our cultural heritage, and that it is our responsibility to preserve them for future generations to appreciate and learn from.

In order to do this work, we strive to recreate features to match their original appearance and function, paying close attention to even the finest details such as mortar samples and ancient stonemasonry techniques. It is our hope that through our efforts, we can help to preserve and protect these important pieces of history, and allow future generations to benefit from the rich culture they represent.

We take great care in every step of the restoration process, from carefully documenting the existing condition of the stone to selecting the most appropriate stonemasonry repair techniques and materials. We strive to ensure that the final result is a seamless blend of old and new, and that the restored structure is as close as possible to its original form.

At our workshop in Shropshire, our team of skilled craftsmen specialises in creating architectural elements and unique details by hand. From component parts to complete structures, we have the expertise and attention to detail to bring any architectural vision to life.

Our hand-masoned pieces are designed to seamlessly integrate with and enhance the overall style of houses, buildings, and other structures.

Stone walls and bespoke garden features

Dry stone walling is a timeless craft that dates back to the Neolithic period. At our company, we specialise in creating walls using both dry stone and lime-based techniques, as well as hand-carving bespoke garden features.

We have a strong partnership with an experienced landscape gardener, and together we have been successful in bringing various design visions to life, whether they be from architects or clients.

Our goal is to create beautiful, functional structures that stand the test of time, using the same tried and true methods that have been passed down for thousands of years.

Door Surrounds, Porticos and Fireplaces

A well-crafted doorway is not only functional but also makes a statement about the style and personality of a building. A fireplace is a central gathering place in a home, providing warmth and a focal point for the room. A well-designed fireplace is both aesthetically pleasing and practical.

We at Staves’s Stonemasonry have mastered the art of combining functionality and design, creating fireplaces, porticos and door surrounds that are both functional and beautiful.

New Build Projects

At Staves’s Stonemasonry, we specialise in using natural stone on new build properties as a cost-effective way to enrich the aesthetic of both the exterior and interior of the building.

We work closely with architects and designers to help bring their visions to life, using traditional methods whenever possible while also adapting to current building regulations.
